The existing school building erected since 1980 requires a major seismic retrofit as the building is unsafe and unfit for the students and staff. In order to comply with the current provincial earthquake guidelines, a large sum of money will be require to complete this upgrade.
Therefore, we have embarked to re-build a new school that incorporates latest innovations in learning, safety, and accommodation for more parish families. The students will also have adequate green space and a standard enclosed gymnasium. In addition, this undertaking will open up more spaces to welcome new students to accommodate the ever-changing demographic of the Collingwood community.
The school is committed to its mission to provide the best academic education in an environment of faith and virtue for our children and for the families of St. Mary’s Parish.
